Assalamua'laikum.

TO ALL MY FRIENDS,

Darkness is just the absence of light.
Cold is just the absence of heat.
Emptiness is just the absence of something, more likely of faith.
When we feel lost, we get back to where we come from.
For Allah is most knowing, most forgiving and most merciful.

Raise thy hands up in joined prayer, brimmed with doa's and surah's.
Move forward to progress as of the call of the Adzan tells much.
Steadfast in thy faith, Insya'Allah, be guided we still.
To believe in Qadha' and Qadar, let Islam lead the way of our life.

Wassalam.

CENDERAWASIH - FACT OR FICTION?

From the newspaper cutting of Kompas Nusantara, Indonesia, 5/6/2000.

"DURING the era of Pangeran Sebrang Lor from Demak whom attacked the Portuguese in Malacca in the 15th century, the traders who returned from Maluku gave news of the finding of a bird bourned of paradise in Maluku. These birds are pronounced as mythical gods' winged creature, birds belonging to the gods', the dwellers of heaven. The Javansese traders from Demak pronounced it as the gods' manuk (manook). Later, its name was translated in Latin terms as Manucodiata by the Europeans who excerpted the information from the returning Portuguese invaders. This Latin name therefore was applied to all cenderawasih birds which were brought over to Europe."

- A brief explanatory and introduction to birds of paradise, a.k.a cenderawasih, a.k.a burung manuk. The birds' first initial existence is in Papua New Guinea. Cenderawasih really do exist, it isn't an imaginary mystical character like dragons. The mystery which surrounds this beautiful bird only serves as folklores of old. Burung manuk is still one of Allah's creation like you and me. Which then again brings me back to the question of dragons' real existence. Hmmmm....

ENOUGH SAID, IT'S ALREADY BEEN DONE.

Getting agitated by others' constant nagging is what most people hate. During these times when you feel easily irritated, the best possible way to get out of the warp is to 'switch off' and plant a line of barricades to temporarily separate yourself from the constant naggers. To be emotionally effected by others' inflicting words is discouraging. When discourage overtakes confidence, retreating away is best for the mind, soul and blood pressure.

In the Muslim way of life, the context about 'Anger' is being laid out in an explanatory manner which serves as a guide and reminder for every good Muslims. Anger erupts in a person when one feels of high importance in themselves therefore already putting the angry person himself in a higher authority than anybody around him. Which then that sort of consideration leads to self-centeredness and foolishness in oneself. The reason when someone gets angry almost immediately, is when that someone feels he demands respect, almost forgetting of others' existence. Acting on that sort of impulse could lead to your blind judgements and worse still, it's like you are being in anger with Allah Himself, naudzubillah.

A parent being angry of a child's unforgiving misdeeds is very much fair enough, deeming that parents are in the most higher authority in a family home. I am agreeable to that. However to lash out angrily between friends aren't too good a moment. When you think during the spur of the moment you need to spit out fiery sentences to a good friend, halt for a moment, recollect the positive energy, beristighfar, then continue with better sounding words. Feel the constant need to gain respect from dear friends? Try exercising my tips. InsyaAllah.

Curb your anger, think before you strike. The hot fire burns either to warm you or to devour you in its flames. I am not one to teach of anger management. Your instincts does.

GOOD FRIDAYS. J'AIME VENDREDI.

I just had to comment about Fridays being good for me because usually every fortnight shall be an alternate off-day on Saturday the next day. And I must say that Channel 5 really made it a good Friday furthermore what with their tv programme line-up. Since I reach home only at 1730hrs after work, I will usually settle down in front of the tube before my twilight prayers, provided the programmes are a big turn-on for me. Tonight's programme on Channel 5 is the turn-on for me. At 7.30pm, 'Beyond Belief' takes on the premiere time slot. An hour-long show about true mystical events, it sure is more intensive than Days Of Our Lives - that soppy drama. Wanna-be bunch might wanna catch 'Star Search' at 8.30pm then, but I was already making a date with AXN channel 19 to watch the pre-broadcasting of Amazing Race 4 before Channel 5 does. AXN channel 19 rocks!

This episode takes the nine teams to France where they challenged through the courses to get to each check-point before stepping on the final patch to determine their status and placing for each game level. Personally, I have one ultimatum on why I adore Amazing Race and that is about watching people's rage and anger while being under a pressurising situation. The programme itself is therapeutic in its own measure. It teaches family values and friendship values, respect, control and intellect decisions. It exercises the mind of the contestants and we as viewers should be able to speculate on which is the best team so far.

I am by far, happy to list out my 'Condemned Teams List'.
1. Team Reichen & Chip. Married gays. During the mid-course, they were truly lost beings. Which compelled me to quote, "For lost they were, trapped in their own obstination and sin".
2. Team Tian & Jaree. Bitches. Go home to your topless modelling jobs.

Sadly enough, the less cunning will always be the eliminated ones at the end of each level. Does that teach us a little about life, afterall?

Enjoy your weekend, everybody.

POST-PERFORMANCE REPORT.

Whew! That was a close call. Not only am I safe from any unforeseen sequences, I am glad to be sane throughout. Wednesday's mini acoustic set from Nazri and Zul Vialli was pounding, man! They rock! We are thankful to the club's entertainment manager for letting us have our fun on Wednesday. Zul Vialli's fresh vocals was able to pull the strings off the hearts of fellow rockers while Nazri's cheerful antics on the guitars made the duo all happy go lucky throughout the show. Wednesday's crowd was but mere young punks of the club's guests. Eventhough the duo made good rolling times rendering famous slow-rock ballads, we as their constant supporters weren't all to satisfied with the audience acceptance. It was just lukewarm. Nowadays' club audience don't rock like the days of "Hotline Fun Club" way back in the late 80's and early 90's. Where have all the 'relax-mat rock' went to?

Yesterday was the day which I myself had the first meeting with Adam, frontman of Global Chaos. Yo, that chunk of a guy is good-looking and looks soft on the exterior. That was the guy who rocks serious at all his gigs. Despite his divorcee status, Adam is a soft spoken person, the ever-ready Dark Angel to melt girls' hearts. 'Nuff said.

I am anticipating for yet another of the duo's acoustic performance. Better venue next time, my friends. Phat Club is just a primary location. Miss Sarina shall transfer the photo shoots soon. Soon.

CHICKEN & BOTAK WILL SING TOMORROW!

As I proceed with my blog today, I was telling myself, "Mampos, I will get murdered by Zul 'Vialli' and Naz 'Ayam'." Heeheeheeheehee... Buahahahahaha! On second thought, Vialli and Ayam teaming up together to stalk me down Jurong East Street 32 acting as Mafia hitmen ready on a rampage, sounds more likely of characters from the SCARY MOVIE.

What's on between these two friends? Okay, Vialli and Nazri are performing live tomorrow evening, Wednesday 18th June at Phat Club, Boat Quay,8pm. Oui, c'est les deux amis performing live acoustics. Les deux amis shall cover songs from Whitesnake, Simply Red, Skidrow, Eagles, Cinderella, AC/DC, Slipknot, Helloween... to name a few. Yup, all in acoustics! "Mati aku!" Okay, the former four covers are quite true except for the latter.

If you people don't hear from me no more as of Wednesday onwards, please issue out a search warrant for my missing body parts. By then I might already be cold and bloodless due to a result of strangulation under Naz's smelly armpits. Also, please make out a BIG donation in bid of my name titled - In Aid of Lizardeouss' Missing Since Wednesday. And make a tribute concert in my name - Lizardeouss Live!
*Keekeekee*

Community members in favour of catching Ayam and Vialli performing live, we'll see you there for a rolling good time! SMS me for more details.

"Women From Tokyo?" Sue in pink and Lizardeouss in red.

Assalamua'laikum.

I bade Siti Suhaida a good trip to Tokyo as she prepares to leave tonight on JL. This lady's gonna visit Tokyo Disneyland, ain't that sweet. She will get to sniff the fresh air at Mount Fuji and take in the sea breeze at Disneysea, all in four days. A last minute assignment made it possible for this "Charlie's Angel" chick to hop over to the Land Of The Rising Sun without much hesitation of thinking on how to scrape loads of fulus/l'argent/moolah/money and the hassles of getting a Japan visa. Her travelling agency company does give the much needed opprtunity to have those. Eventhough it's a working trip, this lady sure does enjoy globe-trotting! Enjoy, Siti!

A MEDITERRANEAN CONNECTION.

Greetings in German, to a new found friend:
Hallo Argyris! Nettes Wissen Sie und ich hoffe, mehr von Ihnen so wir könnten reden mehr von Metallmusik und so weiter zu sehen. Ich wünsche Sie alle beste in Ihren Studien. Mittelmeer und italienische Speise manchmal?

Greetings in Greek too:

Γειάσου Αργύρης! Η Νίκαια που ξέρει σας και ελπίζει να δει περισσότερων σας έτσι θα μπορούσαμε να μιλήσουμε περισσότερο για τη μουσική μετάλλων και τα λοιπά. Σας εύχομαι όλο το καλύτερο στις μελέτες σας. Μεσογειακά και ιταλικά τρόφιμα μερικές φορές;

How funny. Fancy being surrounded by young men all around me, all about 7 to 8 years younger than me. All I have to do is to pick and choose. I didn't want to be one of those tai-tais who unscrupulously engage young men to be of escorts to these women. However Naz made me spoilt for choice. He gathered hither his young cousin's friends - whom were our new band technicians for the gig in July - for a briefing of the hall and stage set-up. The boys are interesting and interested. They find it a surprise to find that a 26 year old sis like me listens intensely to Metallica. Grinning from ear to ear, I wished I could tell the boys that I grew up with Led Zep, Deep Purple, DIO, Skidrow, Motley Crue... I kept my cool balance and was in a positive Yin-Yang energy yesterday. Not until my migraine finally sets in tight on my temple's nerves. Braving the odds, I was all fleetful and set into a full mode of verbal conversation with a new friend, Argyris. Chemistry.... hmmph, it does wonders. And onlooking opposite is Naz, eyeing the two newly met acquaintances. The quick bond left me speculating on how great it is to be able to talk about music interests, sports, food, religion and racial roots in within one hour and a half. Wooh, better than s*x. Interesting facts surrounding Argyris, a Greek-Arab who speaks excellent malay will definitely catch any caucasian-crazy sarong party girls wet in their knickers. Blimey! Such stereotypers.

By the witching hour yesterday, when it was time to receive the 'Samurai Sword of Great Command' from man-warrior Aredz, I was fully loaded on the briefing while at the same time feeding on 2 ponstan pills to subside the migraine. And today I knew where exactly the infected nerve is. So it means that my Neurology appointment still acts as an active precautionary measure for me. Documents piling up on me, I shall start the necessary arrangements on Sunday and be studiously hardworking to complete the job till event day. Since I missed tv so much, Saturday afternoon was a tv-ogling period for me. Yup, I was watching "Ready to Rumble" on HBO at 1730hrs. How funny.

MISSING YOU!

Why, oh for the sakes of this spinning earth, am I suddenly missing my friends? Awww ouch! It hurts. Can you hear it? The crackling in my heart.
There's no Tweety without Sylvester. Since I can only meet the pavilion community on weekends, it is so adult to be so rational on situations. It's two days away from Saturday evening and I am itching to step out and spend the witching hours with them loons.

Thasim, wherefore art thou?
Koujirou, have a safe flight back from Pyongyang, no, Incheon I meant.
Georgie, wonder how's life for you now?
Saiful, are you still enjoying your frolicks in Kuta, was it well spent?
Kelly, me dear Nyonya, how now brown cow?
Aini, busy with the little infant, see you around after your maternity, okay, gem?
All other missing parties unmentioned here, do drop by once every while to say hello.
Amidst our every other day, we go back to square one, in the arms of friends.

Funny how eyelashes grow lavishly on our eyes, eventhough it sheds like autumn leaves, leaving a trail of questions on my head "Who's missing me right now? While I place each fallen eyelash onto my hair, therefore you who misses me, is accepted with permissions granted".

Assalamua'laikum.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN OUR OWN BACKYARD?

Do we know? The things that really happened in our own backyard, our own homeland, right smack in our heartlands? I am talking mainly of issues which prevails in our malay society in Singapore. To list out the probabilities of the more deepening issues that face the general malay society really stretches up to a long list of points. I would like to have the chance to point out the problems malay society has in their minds all along however, who and what am I to pre-judge and pre-jury? If I think that one day I would be able to change the mindset of the majority of the malay society in whole, then I must do with true determination. But, who wants to listen or are the society just being plain lazy to study their problems? I am one of those newer generation of younger malays who'd like to see great changes in behavioural and tactics of thinking in our so-called suppressed malay society.

Do not talk about the government. Let's peek into self-details. What is the biggest problem that looms over the malay society since early day one? It always have to be intertwined with drug abuse. Sighing does not stop the influx of drugs nor does it lessen the number of malay drug criminals. Therefore the best solution at least about 40 percent, is to offer moral support to these subjects of drug users and ex-addicts rather than to continously stomp them down and drown them out totally from the face of this earth. Let's leave the more intense disciplinary acts to God Almighty who has the knowings and power to rule the subject of their wrongdoings. People who have ever been misusing drugs were only misleading themselves and therefore were misleaded. Perahu hanyut boleh di kemudi, orang sesat jalan bila di tunjuk, boleh kembali ke pangkal asal. Frankly, police cannot even wipe off drugs off the streets at all, more even to say keeping all drug abusers under lock because the narrow mentality of our bruised society wasn't able to help so much too. I see my sad gloomy face in the mirror. It's the reflection of our malay society in general and yes, I am serious. And I do not wish to see fresh new drug users in the 'club' anymore and I hope this message goes out to our younger malay community in Singapore.

Suria channel has made efforts to screen local dramas portraying the disturbing behaviour patterns in our malay society when facing drug abuse problems in our own backyard. I must certainly give good reviews of these dramas bacause it really acts as an eye-opener for all major viewers. To see with the eye and to speak with the mind, not a great number of individuals are able to conform to that and tv dramas are there as a back-up to feed this 'mind education'. The dramas, 'DIAN' and 'DIAN 2' should make an effective impact to those who view it. These sort of dramas serves as realizations and conciousness in our society. And we must thank the proper organizations and bodies who inputs effort to produce such society-poking dramas.

I have only pointed out one major calamity facing the Singapore malay community, and that is about drug abuse. Other points pertaining to what makes S'pore malays' business can't really reach that far unlike our nextdoor neighbours' and the more disturbing, is about the risings of local 'terrorists' of J.I. affiliated parties, these two issues really needs a heavy insight by the society in general. There is a quota to what I can write. Elephants feel tired too when working non-stop. So, my writings shall carry on with my gathered might next time around.

Some worthy lines to ponder about and how tickly I get when I read these in adults' point of view.....

Encik Sun beruang ceria
Tidur di katil, memang digemari
Diambilnya HEROIN satu ketika
Kini beruang tidak hidup lagi. (Hahahahahahah! Beruang...)

Joanne si ayam
Ingin menyanyi macam Madonna
Tapi HEROIN pula diambilnya
Dan kini merana.

And please, take good care of yourselves.

NOSY PARKER a.k.a Gangster Mama Mamboing Mafioso.

I had, at random times, peeked into the site of other general millions of bloggers worldwide, due courtesy to blogger.com's 'most recently updated blogs' column.

So far, to date, I have stumbled upon various 'persons and characters' in the blogger world, the farthest being the more competent journalists in the u/s of A, whom had so much downright issues to write about. It seems their blogging is un-ending. Yup, journalists. The power of dominating the pen is theirs and so do the cyber highway, it's their daddy's road. And in my opinion about blogging is, this area actually really meant well for these journalists. It's their medium, what more can others say?

Another set of bloggers whom I mostly came across are these busy mummy individuals who spend time with kids, pets, friends and more friends, outdoor activities and it's almost as if I am being let in their houses for a weekend stay-over. Mum bloggers are a happy, cheerful lot. One whom 'gets' at night, be a lively one. Kind of fun to peek into their kids' and house photos anyway.

Once, I visited the blogsite of a Malaysian palm field owner, that guy talks mostly of palm kernel oil. Interesting, though. So long as each individual has a strong topic to be made the header subject of his or her blogging, it should prove something punchy.

The other set of bloggers, majority of them, are students of every level. Once I read about a young male student blogger from New York, studying at NYU by day, working by evening, dance classes after, toiling hard to get his dream tool. Sometimes when I'm lucky enough, I'd get to read and then poke unsatisfactory comments in my head, of some Singaporean young students' bloggers. Yeah, if you were to randomly pick a blog to read, you could end up in some bored talentless Singaporean student bloggers, mostly cina in their late teens. By God! The most extreme bad English are to be found at these people's blogsite. Ashamed I am of them. Studies in elite schools like SA JC or CHIJ or whatever non-government aided schools yet they write GIBBERISH! Either we write proper or we do not write at all! Damn the fool who chooses to bind themselves in ignorance. And the most appaling character I'd meet on these blogs are BOOCH. You know 'booch', right? Singapore actually produces a great deal of young student 'booches' mainly of elite background with rich dads. Apart from having a vigorous lifestyle and extra curricular activities, as is always the case for well-endowed kafir families, the 'booch' bloggers are, sadly, pretty wasted. According to what I accumulated from their writings.

However the case, I must surely say that our own blogging family and I meant OUR COMMUNITY - the likes of Mr. Robot.com, Ridjal.com, Herda, Ez Jazz, Mandom, Guatahu, inclusive of the rest of the Malay-background bloggers are the best! WE TOP THEM ALL TILL THE END OF THIS UNIVERSE.And because we are mainly matured, working individuals, our view of life is well-matched and stable. Really, I ain't bodellica (bodek, lah). Because, we have creativity, notion, motion, grooves, a lot of juice and Dekap boxes and tagboards for communication. If you take a look at the majority of outside bloggers, they don't have a bridge of communicative gadget like TAGBOARD. Well, what's holding you down? Comment on this! Merci Beaucoup.

And I pray that my blogging won't ever get to be included in blogger.com's 'most recently updated blogs' column. Too much of fire in here...

Wassalam!
It's just passion.

IT'S ALL ABOUT BEING RIPPED AND RIPPING.

I had the poem below ripped from one malaysian website. Why must I resort to such unauthorised duplication? Damn, I find the poem so touching the heart! C'mon, read on...

Ripped from telatah orang kampung.com, written by 'putri lilin' in April 2003, co-copied by Lizardeouss.

Puisi....

ANTARA KAWAN DAN KEKASIH

Antara kawan dan kekasih
Yang mana harus ku pilih
Kawan pengubat kesunyian
Kekasih penyembuh kelukaan

Antara kawan dan kekasih
Yang mana harus didahulukan
Kawan tempat mengadu
Kekasih tempat bermadu

Antara kawan dan kekasih
Keduanya tak bisa ku sisih
Kawan menghulurkan bantuan
Kekasih menghulurkan sokongan

Antara kawan dan kekasih
Keduanya aku harapkan
Kawan sekuntum senyuman
Kekasih sepenuh perhatian

Antara kawan dan kekasih
Bilakah akan kutemui
Kawan sejujur kata
Kekasih setulus ikhlas

Andai kawan itu kekasihku
Andai kekasih itu kawanku
Akan kuhadiahkan
Sedalam hutan
Setinggi kayangan
Kasih sayang tiada sempadan.

Another shamelesly ripped contents from Firdhouse's e-mail. It's all about spreading the words to the masses.

::ROCK ON ::
This concert is a tribute to the bands and sounds of the 70s and the 80s. Contemporary rock bands of Singapore paying their respects to the decades that brought forth not only legendary bands but of also sub-genres of heavy/hard rock and heavy metal.
The title “ROCK ON” is appropriate for this tribute concert. Rock, in the Singapore context, or at least in the context of Singapore “Mat Rock” culture, has always been about distortion guitar-based music. This tradition of Rock is ongoing both worldwide and locally with the emergence of new bands and newer forms of heavy distortion guitar-based music. This is reflected in the line-up of bands performing at this event, which ranges from traditional hard rock to metalcore.
One may ask, “ What has modern chugga-chugga metal and rapcore has to do with 70s and 80s rock? “. Well, the truth is A LOT. The heavy chugging rhythms of Pantera, Machine Head and Sepultura as well as today’s metalcore bands has its roots in BLACK SABBATH( just listen to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Into The Void ). The low-end detuned guitar style also originated from the 70s. BLACK SABBATH, again, was guilty of that.
You hate NU-METAL and the mixing of rock and rap? You consider that “a bastardization of heavy rock/metal”? You consider that “a diluted form of hard rock”?
Well, blame LED ZEPPELIN then. ‘Immigrant Song’ was a prototype Nu-Metal song, with its chugging riffs and jump-beats and this was way back in the 70s. And what do we have in the 80s? AEROSMITH shamelessly laying down the foundations for rap-rock with rap group RUN DMC with the song ‘Walk This Way’. And yes, don’t forget ANTHRAX with PUBLIC ENEMY….”I’m the Man” anyone?
The point above is not about defending Nu-Metal and other forms of modern rock. Neither is it about shifting the blame for today’s mutants to yesterday’s heroes. It is about trying to show the connection between present and past heavy-guitar music forms. There is no present without the past. There would be no Hammerfall without Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Helloween. There would be no Dream Theater without Deep Purple. There would be no Dimmu Borgir wihout Kiss. There would be no Tom Morello, Head and Munky without Jimmy Page and Steve Vai. In short, consciously or otherwise, present genres of rock were created by the legends of the past.
And I am not forgetting “Mat Rock” bands of the 70s and 80s era. No braders and sisters, Brader Rock is not a Western-centric rocker ah. But there is a quota to what I can write, so next time we do a feature on the Mat Rock bands, ok?!

Can you spot the main word objective in the passage above?

"SAINTS OF ANGER"

Naz, Bo, Fird, Aredz and all Urbankarma's supporters... if you see the above banner of Metallica's newest album, you might wanna re-cap on Urbankarma's first album's cover... the photo collage looks painfully somewhat similar...
Had a sneak listening to St. Anger on Perfect 10 this afternoon at exactly 1500hrs. Errmm, can still give credit lah, sounds like they are revisiting the raw edgy tunes of Kill 'Em All's album. To celebrate the release of this new album, Hard Rock Cafe is having a die-hard Metallica all-day live covers from bands such as Bushmen, Fishtank, The Stoned Revivals, Aphelion and many others performing till midnite on this Saturday 7th June '03. Anybody who could spare the time could catch these bands playing from 11 am onwards. Tickets available at door, $11.00 from 11am onwards, $23.00 from 9pm onwards.

Assalamua'laikum.

I can never forgive myself for not watching the first episode of Amazing Race 4 last Friday night. How can I forget such an important, crucial gameshow? The simplest ultimate reason for me being on annual leave on May 31st was to catch the premiering episode on tv. Fate reversed for me, I was out jiggying around with my 2 girlfriends instead. Believe me, I am the sort of person who only cared for Amazing Race, apart from The Price Is Right. Okay, to provide justice to myself, I hoped AXN Channel 19 will be re-running that particular episode for people like me, bookmarking that Friday however failed to watch the show. So many things to see and do, yet so little time! Many things on my mind, yet little opportunities spared.
