"No Letting Go" - Wayne Wonder

[Verse 1]
Got somebody she's a beauty
Very special really and truly
Take good care of me like it's her duty
Want you right by my side night and day

[Chorus]
No letting go No holding back
Because you are my lady
When I'm with you its all a that
Girl I, am so glad we've dated
No letting go No holding back
No holding Back no
When I'm with you it's all a that
All a that

[Verse 2]
They say good things must come to an end
But I'm optimistic about being your friend
Though I made you cry by my doings
With Keisha and Anisha but that
Was back then

[Chorus]
No letting go No holding back
Because you are my lady
When I'm with you its all a that
Girl I, am so glad we've dated
No letting go No holding back
No holding Back no
When I'm with you it's all a that
All a that

[Bridge]
Really appreciate you loving me
After all that we've been thru
Really appreciate you loving me
All times, time

[Repeat Verse 1]
Got somebody she's a beauty
Very special really and truly
Take good care of me like it's her duty
Want you right by my side night and day

[Repeat Chorus Till Fade]
No letting go No holding back
Because you are my lady
When I'm with you its all a that
Girl I, am so glad we've dated
No letting go No holding back
No holding Back no
When I'm with you it's all a that
All a that

Assalamualaikum.

This following piece is a contribution write-up from a fellow comrade in arms, Firdaus Aji. It depicts of Firdaus' personal meet-up with KORN's frontman in 'down under' Oz sometime ago. Read on and feel the grief with the man. I feel honoured to include this piece in my blog today and what's more, this friend's got soul. I would like to encourage my other sahabats to keep up their excellent writing skills and let us be the killer writers of our time!

Jonathan Davis & Fid

CHILDREN OF THE KORN

The lights finally go out and screams fill the room. I quickly turn towards the stage to see them walk on. I notice that he's wearing a long black robe and that his ragged dreadlocks cascade down his back. I can see the depths of his soul in his face. The music starts up as he flies into a fury of emotion. Then the tragic song comes up and he prepares for a greater rage. He pours his heart and soul into this song. Then half way through, the painful memories finally break his fragile heart as he rushes off engulfed by tears of agony. The crowd is worried and concerned as the rest of the band runs off after him to console his tormented heart. They know what is happening and so do I. Then I think of my imaginary friend who's consumed by his troubled past. I wish I could be there to help ease his pain, to cry with him, to be a friend to him. I say to myself, "You can get through this, Jon. We're all here for you," as if he were by my side. A couple minutes of confusion dragged by. They seemed like hours. Then I hear the screams yet once again. I look up in excitement. To my amazement, I see him standing there, ready to go on. The music starts up and he goes at it again. I know he is stronger now. I know how much pain he has endured. He is my imaginary friend. I am a friend he can trust in, who is always there for him. A friend he can confide in. I wrote this story because of the song "Daddy". He has inspired me greatly. My life is not bad at all and I know the people whose lives are. I would like to thank Jon for expressing his pain to us and saving many of our lives. I think, for many people, Jon is their imaginary friend too. Jon is a savior and I really hope he knows that. And if any of you reading this have a bad life, I am so, so sorry and I pray every night for anyone whose life is bad. I am praying for you. Again I wanna thank Jon for helping us, his fans.

"Life feels like it's gone,
As I wait for the break of dawn.
Wishing I could overcome...
Everything that has been done.
Tears begin to overwhelm my eyes,
I cannot hold them back no matter how much I strain and try.
Asking myself why me why me...
Am I the special one who has no soul to see...
Looking around my solemn dark cell,
I wonder if I will be promoted heaven or demoted to the pits of hell.
I close my eyes as a poor attempt to hold back a tear...
Nobody knows how much I wanted somebody near.
For I am the one that will die in fear...
Or I am the one dreading the next year...
For now I will sit tight.
And hold on to life with all my might...
For I have learned taking my own life isn't right."

Lizardeouss' footnote: Don't be consumed by your own tormented rage and fear. Have a break, Have a Kit Kat.

Wassalam.
May Allah Bless...

MY LOVE HISTORY .... Part Deux

Refer to my historical account on March 06 2003 about my love affair with..... SAMPOERNA MENTHOL.

SAMPOERNA MENTHOL is a low-tar cigarette which has a delicate clove flavour. Its flavour is distinct, its taste is sweet and has an uplifting aroma yet light and entertaining. The after-taste it leaves on the lips is of honey-sweet, resulting from the clove present at the filter tip. Manis gitu lo...

I realised how much danger it is to continue my love affair with Sampoerna Menthol, which could lead to health risks so much so as a woman, the chances of getting breast cancer is definitely high. Many a friends have advised me to cease my habit. But, seriously, my intake isn't to worry about, since I indulge on a stick of clove cigarette per day only. At times, I could go with one pack for one week and a half. I'm not addicted to it, I just loved it. It's become my obsession.

My previous blog regarding the price details of the clove cigarette in Singapore sure is alarming... year 1996, it costed a mere SGD 3.60. Gradually, the price hiked in year 1998, with more consumers of Sampoerna building up, the govt took all liberty to increase the price to SGD 4.30 a packet of 16's. While I am still enjoying the beauty of the clove smokes, in year 2000 at my sensible age of 24, I have to fork out SGD 5.50. This year alone, the govt has brought about a price adjustment on all tobacco and cigarette products in Singapore, which means another round of price hike. That had taken place in March earlier and a pack of Sampoerna costs SGD 6.30. Then, last few weeks I have heard word of mouth from some others, about another round of price adjustments to cigarettes again. True enough, yesterday I was buying tea at the coffeshop when the cigarettes display caught my eyes. And I read, SGD 6.70!

I remembered, I am so used to buying Sampoerna either in Johor Baru or Batam and I will only pay around SGD 2.50 at any of the two venues but am always discreet about showing off the pack in Singapore, being that in here, the Customs & Excise Dept officers are roaming the streets to nab foreign cigarette pack. Wo, a hefty fine shall follow if it was found out. Tight regulations, huh? Well, talk about earning revenues for the country. Anyway, our National Day is just around the corner, coming in about 3 weeks from now. Huh, talk about patriotism. I'd rather spend time with my beloved Sampoerna Menthol somewhere. Talk about relaxation.

And with that, I bid WASSALAM.

Beb, kalau lu orang pegi search engine yahoo.com, lu orang boleh dapat view gua punya site, type in 'sampoerna menthol' dalam search box. Tak tally gitu lo...

BLACKMAIL ME NO MORE

I was browsing through some music review sites today when I was alarmed by a fellow comrade about a few surprises that awaits to spring up from somewhere.

Entered the mentioned website I did and up till July 18th, neither had I known of the said website having a forums page. Come on, all due respects to the webmeister of that particular music website, man. The crapload that was generating from that site were the incessant and incorrigible post writers whom were misusing the ex-Yuhuan Highfliers' webshots and most unacceptable was the revealing info to the path leading towards my decent site. Oh, poor me!

Ah well, you guys out there, you new visitors who had somehow gotten your way here in my crib, a toast of welcome to you. No offences though, there ain't no explicit language here, there ain't no vulgar pictures here. Just plain old writings to bore you down to the floor. But beware though, this site is hot! It's ignited at the very slightest drop of ether.

Behave well, kids!

Wassalam.
And, this is a pro-feminine site.

SIJI, LORO, TELU, PAPAT!

I would like very much to bring the music of Urbankarma to Jogjakarta & the rest of Java including Semarang, Solo, Sunda & Bandung and also to Australia. But I don't have the capital means at this moment to realize this dream however I am still determined to work something out, InsyaAllah.

Plus, the other thing I would like to see is the constant support among the musically talented people in this island. Support the locals!

WEATHER REPORT

It weren't only showers that blessed our lands these past few days. In fact, its the real downpour. The monsoon season has finally arrived. Well, uh, I can't tell which monsoon it is, neither the North-East Monsoon nor the South-West Monsoon. The climatic stature in this region has gone haywire in fact. Unpredictable. A dear friend says Singapore's gonna have snow soon. Right.

The temperature shows 28 degrees celcius, a dip in climate measure from months afore. At least I ain't complaining now that it's much cooler than the month of May. I'm happy when it rains, drizzle or shower. It's a nice cold feeling. And this is the moment when it's more appropriate to dress up in autumn fashion. What better ways to keep you thermally warm during these stormic weathers than a piece of fleece jacket or a high-neck sweater with hoods? Whatever your mode of fashion shall be, be sure to dress to kill these days because warm clothings has always been trendy and romantic at the same time.

Ain't it a better time to stay home in these rainy months to come?

Wassalam.

After the rain has fallen...

GIG POST-MORTEM

THE GIG TURNOUT and response was very satisfying. A mixture of young and elder audiences were present. The crowds had already start to stream in as early as 1.50pm and by the time the doors opened at 2.00pm, the audience flowed in steadily while filling up half the hall that afternoon. Kicking-start the event with an early birds' lucky draw, our MC, Mr Adi Yadoni welcomes the audiences to a day of brilliant performances.

THE FIRST BAND to kick-start the gig was Karras, an Australian rock classic outfit, caters more to the palate of 30-something audiences while the more younger crowd were introduced to a refreshing performance of rock, blues and classic rock tunes. When it was time for Metalheadz to warm the house, the younger audiences came upfront to the stage's edge and have their share of metal music experience with Metalheadz. Halmi, Metalheadz's front man brings the audience through a time-capsule of Metallica's tunes. While the crowd turnout is still well under control, the gig kicks in further with the presence of 7 Pound Vein. Audiences enjoyed the company of 7 Pound Vein's metal type genre which made the many metal fans happy.

THE HEIGHT OF THE GIG begins to ascend, as when Spellbound takes onstage to belt out familiar rock and metal tunes, what with the band had a following in Singapore and furthermore, they were the Battle of the Rock 2003's winners last June. Zul, Spellbound's frontman gave his best showmanship which really attracted the audience. More crowds are building up at the ticket queue desk outside eventhough it was late afternoon, they were present to witness the heights of the gig on Saturday. By this time, the hall is already fully seated.

THE HEAT RISES as Spellbound hands over the stage to Urbankarma, with Borhan heading the pack, the band dishes out songs of the 70's, 80's and songs from their first album and songs of their 2nd album, Intifada Musica. The audience are responsive to every bands' performances and were definitely enjoying the whole show. The final band to perform was Malex. Malex's band really proves to be the height of the event as all audiences were the cult followers of Malex. Playing tunes with the influences of Yngwie Malmsteen, the crowd headbangs and bodysurfs in front of the stage showing their approval of the gig's peaking moments. The hall is already jam-packed with audiences who were awed by Malex's sound blasting performance. Alif, the frontman, together with Malik on guitars and the rest of Malex's members brings almost 60 percent of the audience up on their feets and upfront to the stage to get their best feel of Malex's music. Slightly after Malex's performance, some avid fans in their 30's and 40's rushed out to buy a copy of Malex's CD.

THE FINAL TRIBUTE SONG of 'Ikrar Perwira' which involves all of the performing bands' guitarists, frontmen and the best drum players took centrestage at 9pm, a prelude towards the closing of the vibrating gig. Loud cheers and clapping filled the hall, the audience were fully revved up by the gig and heads home satisfied. The gig ended well, without any problems erupting either from the audience or the sound systems or other isolated cases. No police were needed because the crowd behaved well. In fact, many audiences commented on the success of the gig and the excellent acoustics surrounding Woodlands' CC hall.

THE ORGANIZING BAND AND COMMITTEE expresses its thanks and gratitude to all personnels who were involved in the preparation and co-ordination of the gig! All the blood, sweat, tears and migraines are worth it!!

Wassalam.

Apa Liza buat di atas stage ketika Spellbound beraksi??

BERITA HARIAN 8 HARIBULAN JULAI 2003, mukasurat 12.

"KONSERT DAPAT SAMBUTAN HEBAT

KONSERT Rock On - A tribute to 70's and 80's Rock/Metal yang berlangsung Sabtu lalu di Balai Rakyat Woodlands, ternyata mendapat sambutan hebat.
Ayuh, sokong artis tempatan!"

3 DAYS TO ROCK ON GIG 2003!!!!

It'll be 3 more days ahead (biting nails) till the big event. The boys and gals are doing up the final touches for the big day which will take place on July 5th 2003 at Woodlands CC. The gig will kickstart at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, a perfect time-slot for a full day rock concert. Prior to the gig day, almost every ground crew are clearly briefed of each prime duties and position. Every single staff involved in the gig is equally important as it will determine the effectiveness of the event managements' co-ordination and planning.

Staff welfare was well taken care of, thumb-nailing each factor concerning meals, uniform and identification tags. We are pleased at the staffs' response and interest and are awaiting the full-fledge results that will shine out on gig-day ahead. Nevermind the endless back-biting competition from fellow SANA-sponsored 'Music Against Drug' gig on the same date and time at a different venue, the organising band and committee members are well-deep into the fight for whose gig is the mightiest! I shall say it should be ROCK ON gig 2003!!

Nevermind if some prominent figures in the Malay Rock music scene wasn't able to make it to the invitations, I feel much fulfilled to have received verbal words of "Thanks for the invitation, I feel honoured" and "Send my best regards to Urbankarma and may it be a successful performance", such were the words delivered by the Papa of Rock himself. For I knew it is a greater honour to have such old timers of Rock to witness the launch of Urbankarma's 2nd album, Intifada Musica. I am in anticipation of the trusty media personnels to turn up for the gig and make a smashingly good coverage about ROCK ON gig 2003, let's carry on the furious fierce fight for 5th July 2003!!

Lizardeouss, personally has her own last-end touch-up to complete just slightly before Saturday morning. Near-important matters to crop up at the eleventh hour in any event is normal and expected. I was beginning to think that the whole event is becoming like one big wedding day for someone, funny it seems, what with the big efforts taken to guarantee the success of the event.

Like I've said, "Nevermind the endless back-biting" pain, pleasure shall come with it along the way. I know I shall be the last to laugh.

Wassalam.
