Assalamua'laikum.

A TANKFUL OF THANK-YOUS.

I have many thanks to give to my friends. The thanks that were supposed to be verbally spoken out by me, those thanks that were not able to reach my friends in time. The type of thanks that were so much, so much precious, the ones that my friends didn't even realize. Y'all has helped me a lot. Brought me up when I was down, brought me down when I was high....

Thanks for the wake-up calls. Thanks for reminding me of your belated birthdays. Thanks for giving me the much-needed lifts, I appreciate that. Thanks for lending me an ear. Thanks for all the unceasing advices. Thanks for nagging on me. Thanks for letting me free my mind. Thanks for letting me be me. Thanks for having me in all your parties. Thanks for filling me in. Thanks for loving me.... Thanks for making you be my bestest friends!

Thanks for your utmost concern, I ain't been around lately, I'm sorry, I'll pop by when God permits me to be. Thanks for your sincerity. Thanks for having faith. Thanks for sharing late nights with me. Thanks for waking up beside me. Thanks for your serenades. Thanks for the music. Thanks for being my funny bones. Thanks for being sweet. Thanks for all your help rendered while in times of need.

Thanks for beating together in my heart. Thanks for the blood. Thanks for the skin. Thanks for being modest. Thanks for being handsome, pretty, voluptous and bright. Thanks for being my knight in shining armour. Thanks for sharing with me. Thanks for the company. Thanks for the rosy words, they permeated to a scent of love and hope. Thanks for appreciating my writings, till it has made it's way to a music magazine in neighbouring land, Malaysia.

Thanks for being perverted. Thanks for being dark-minded. Thanks for being Scorpions, Libras, Geminis, Leos and Virgos. Thanks for being you. Thanks for all and all! May God lead us the way and shine us the light to our paths. I am still here. I'll be right here waiting for you.

Wassalam.

PENYAKIT CACING

"Aunty Liz was there to see you 7 hours before your departure. Your laughter and chirpy voice was just like yesterday. Carrying you in my arms gave me the feeling of motherly love towards a little son. My heart moves to see you resting in your bed, the final hours. You were on respiratory support system. I knew it couldn't carry on long but I didn't wish to tell a lie to my head...."

Al-Fatehah and a potpourri of doa's and surah yassin goes all out to the little love of my heart, Allahyarham Syed Mustaqim.

"FIR'S SKETCHES"

A sketch of hatepattern in him....

My life incomplete
Begging on certain things to work
But why can't I relate?
Feeling all like I'm afraid
What's mine
Holding on to faith and justice
Never gave me something but despair
So why must I create just to be swallowed?

I did my part, I did my time to regconize this hate in me

Been hating all this time for all your injustice and premature change
Been hating all the faces of everything that I could find
Been hating all this time, too far to cross the line

Where does our friendship end?

Assalamua'laikum.

Can't help but keep humming to the tune of Skidrow's 'Wasted Time' in my head. Skidrow's songs has always been those full of strong messages that relay out to the young and restless youths of the modern times. More often than not, Skidrow's most outstanding songs have successfully became all rock music lovers' anthemic chants. Skidrow is a must-have in every single Generation X'ers cd collection.

Wasted Time

[Bach, Bolan, Snake] - SKIDROW -

You and I together in our lives
Sacred ties would never fray
Then why can't I let myself tell lies
And watch you die every day

I think back to the times
When dreams were what mattered
Tough talking youth naivete

You said you never let me down
But the horse stampedes and rages
In the name of desperation

Is it all just wasted time
Can you look at yourself
When you think of what
You left behind

Is it all just wasted time
Can you live with yourself
When you think of what
You left behind

Paranoid delusions they haunt you
Where's my friend I used to know
He's all alone
He's buried deep within a carcass
Searching for a soul

Can you feel me inside your heart
As it's bleeding
Why can't you believe you
can't be loved

I hear you scream in agony
And the horse stampedes and rages
In the name of desperation

Is it all just wasted time
Can you look at yourself
When you think of what
You left behind

Is it all just wasted time
Can you live with yourself
When you think of what
You left behind

You said you never let me down
But the horse stampedes and rages
In the name of desperation

Is it all just wasted time
Can you look at yourself
When you think of what
You left behind

Is it all just wasted time
Can you live with yourself
When you think of what
You left behind

The sun will rise again
The earth will turn to sand
Creation's colors seem to fade to grey
And you'll see the sickly hands of time
Will write your final rhyme
And end a memory

I never thought you'd let it get
this far, boy

CAN I? - written by Lizardeouss

Can I ride against the tide
And defy the laws of nature?
Can I ride against the wind
And end up hitting home safe?
Can I keep hitting against the current
And wade through the waters like nothing?
Can I cease the uneasy noise from my head
And make them go in a blink?
*Oh, cripes, my Artemis is suffering from Grumbles. I need help fast*
Can I turn right away and let the tears
Drip away from my eyes easy?
Can I see the truth and let it go after that?

Oooh... Yes I can!
For I have done
All I've ever desired to be
And all that is left is me
And all that is left is me

Time is consumed
It shows no concern
Can I remind myself again?

Can I ride against the tide
And defy the laws of nature?
Can I see through the facade
And tell how ugly it looks?
Can I keep slamming against the torments
And fly through you like nothing?
Can I look for peace deep in my head
And know that it will come soon?
Can I erase the memories right away
And let it be gone, have no fear?
Can I see your truth and let it all go....

All I've ever desired it to be
Has been proven right.
And all that is left is me
And all that is left is me

All I've ever desired it to be.
Don't keep coming back to me...

WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED TODAY?

He learned how to make risotto. But forgotten the recipe after another half an hour.
Me learned that celery and green apple juice may help cure migraine, a tip from Nyai.
We learned about each other's interest which seems similar in some ways.
They learned that I am actually doing something way out of the ordinary, but, whatever. Hahah!
I learned today that by losing one monkey off my back adds three more on my back.
I learned that being put under pressure from other sources may lead one to look for a victim to hit out on.
I learned that by letting go of a sacred friendship should at all times mean nothing more than a passing cloud in one's life. F**k it, baby.
I learned from a book titled 'Women In Islam', menstruation is something that's been ordained to daughters of Adam. The first group of tribe to receive menstruation are the people of Israel. One should not doubt the miracles of the womb that has been brought about by Allah Almighty. In Heaven, things as menstruation, sputum and faeces does not exist.
I learned a thing or two to make nice potato salad, but never managed to memorise the raviolli and tortellini recipe albeit the easy ingredients.

Every single day, I am still learning. The moment that I exhaled my last breath shall be the day I stopped learning. So, Allah gave you and me grace and style, be thankful that we are still able to learn.

ALBUM REVIEW - courtesy of Manja Magazine.

Has you people gotten a copy of the 'Manja' magazine for the month of August yet? Well if you hasn't, then go get your butt off the chair and get that copy now. Why, you may ask? That's because the editor of 'Manja' - Hafeez Harun, has included an excellent album review of Urbankarma's INTIFADA MUSICA in this month's edition. Read about it, the crannies and the nooks there are things to read.

This is an excerpt from August 2003's 'Manja' magazine. Text in malay, hope my fellow bloggers find it comfortable to adapt. Write-up can be found on page 66, Muzik section.

" ALBUM PILIHAN Intifada Musica (BOCAH EDAN MUSIC) URBANKARMA

Dengarkan lagu-lagu seperti 'Can't Take My Soul'. "

Poll result : 4.5 out of 5!

That is very generous of Hafeez. Elated to read his comments. The band is happy, everyone's happy, so keep it that way! Coming close to good fight for August's album review, reaching the second highest point of '4' poll result were contenders like 'Shanty' (Indon songstress), 'YESS' (song compilations of various artists) and 'Roger Wang' - Journey Home (Malaysian jazz guitarist). Well done to all the nominees, good try!

Can anybody find a chord of mellow yet aboriginal and ethnical didgeridoo riff in any one malay song here unlike Urbankarma's 'Bacalah'? NO... prove me wrong, babies.

Most importantly, has you people gotten a copy of INTIFADA MUSICA in your hands right now? Heard that it's a sold-out at the shops anyway. Feeling a gush of blood to your head for not getting your hands on it earlier? Well, tag me here and we'll arrange for the CD to be available for you.
