KETUPAT PULUT, SANTAN KELAPA MUDA.
Yesterday's first day of Syawal had me in elation all over. I put on my lemon creme-yellow baju kurung and strut down the housing estate's pathway towards my Nyai's place. I looked left, I peered right, yesterday's popular colour was yellow and green. Most beings were draped in these two colours for their Aidilfitri visits on the first day. I wondered what colour were the rest of my sahabats are donning on the 1st of Syawal.
The Raya eve visitation to the Geylang Serai bazaar was a grave intention I made. A late night revel has resulted in an over-sleep the day next and Mum's real mad because of that. The aunts made full fun of it and, oh well. The best eat I had yesterday should be the glutinous rice ketupat my Nyai made. It goes real well with Mum's beef rendang, it sent my mind into a state of euphoria!
I am real thrilled to know that some friends either have their off-day or leave today and tomorrow. Me, in the office at 9am, extremely occupied with so many imports, by the time it was 3pm, I longed so much to go home! However I can't... my paperwork has held me captive at my desk. I was planning on a suicide at 5pm just now. Freaking documents it doesn't cease! Eventually, I only moved out from my office premises at 1900hrs, with Evon driving me home in her green Merce and chatting about Louis Vuitton. She's crazy.
I have to lay me down to sleep right about now. So much to do yet so little time.
Wassalam.

"EYE ON THE BALL"
RUGBY WORLD CUP FINAL, 22ND NOVEMBER 2003.
ENG 20, AUS 17.
Saturday's rugby match was an intense scene. Both teams are utilising desperate measures to outdo each other out. A tough fight for each side, it was a show of finesse, wits and integrity on-field. It was a no-nonsense match, for this is the judgement of who's gonna keep the Webb Ellis Cup this year.
It was a wet day yesterday both in here and over at Sydney. Telstra Stadium is holding a humungous 82,000 strong spectators. The soggy weather does not deter the Wallabies and the English roses to bring about a hard fight for a world cup championship.
England's Wilkinson drop goal at the end-minute of the extra time shifts a three-point difference from the intial 17-17. And with that heart-crumbling moment, my jaws agaped, England indeed is the Rugby World Cup 2003 winner. The games have been fought furiously over the past few weeks of the world cup event. Though in their desperate attempts to nail down the Wallabies, the English roses succumbed to errors and penalties during play which gave leeway for the Wallabies to kick in and score goals.
I am glad on one part though, blood spill wasn't the ultimate order of the day yesterday, however unfortunately a small number of blood bin was accounted for. It was a hard jagged little pill for me to swallow, accepting the reality of the win. Surely I really am in cahoots of an Aussie victory. The war has been played and it is an excellent play involving both teams. Eddie Jones' anxious glares, Gregan's firm leadership and the Wallabies' mounting efforts have made myself, a supporter, proud of their valour. Till all the teams shall meet again in year 2007 in France for the next World Cup!
By golly, indeed I send my sincere regards to the English team on their win! The top 3 teams in world rugby are - New Zealand, Australia and England. Need we say more?
Tho long thuckers and 'Thelamat Hari Raya'.

'AIDIL FITRI
'Aidil Fitri, the Return To Purity. After the success and victory of cleansing oneself during the month of Ramadhan, the faithful ones carry onwards the celebratory ceremony of 'Aidil Fitri. Before fulfilling the 1st of Syawal's call of celebration, one must remember to pay tithe, otherwise known as Zakat Fitrah. By completing this year's Ramadhan month, we are indeed observing the obligatory Pillars of Faith.
The serene morning of Syawal is being made memorable by the lovely womenfolk who would prepare the feastings, decorate the home, dishing out the festive cakes and adorning pretty traditional clothings. The men and sons will return home after an early 'Aidil Fitri prayers at the mosque, everybody shall tuck in to the feast and be merry. The first morning of Syawal should be a happy and satisfying occasion, pending on your level of mood.
It shall come the moment when the merriment will be replaced by humbleness. Children sat afoot their mums and dads, seeking forgiveness from each other. Affections of love are exchanged. Husbands and wives forgive each other of an annual's wrongdoings. Brothers and sisters work out their differences and soothing words of forgiveness abounds. Grandchildren and grandparents benefits from the tradition, packets of tokens are high on the roll. A touching day it will be, laced with a bit of light-hearted moments when relatives afar meet one another again.
Truly a day of rekindled relationships, it strengthens the ties of family and friends around. Unforgettable are the food tastings and delectable feastings at various houses. Surely every house is ever-ready armed and packed with delicacies to soothe the roving visitors' appetite. No matter how you wish to celebrate your 'Aidil Fitri, may it be a fulfilling event for the whole family and for many years to come.
And with that, I bid WASSALAM.
Kids love the festivities..

ALL THAT YOU WANNA KNOW ABOUT YOUR 70'S PAST.
THAT 70'S SHOW - A contemporary youth drama about life in the heydays, when the time your mamma got her 5 inches platform shoes and your daddy got his curly afro hair-do boogey-woogey at Club 51. Also during one of those times they got jiggy to it and then you were made... Woohoo!
The sitcom simply tickles you down with their antics and funny dialogues each character holds. You may learn, watch and evaluate from the show itself, treat it as your Monday night therapy. For this sitcom, I give a rating of 8 above 10!
Here, all you might like to read about Eric, Hyde, Michael, Fez, Donna & Jackie. Also comes with their pics.
THAT 70'S SHOW FAN WEBBIE
Ashton Kucher... hehehe!
To Hoot-Hoot, I gave her Michael (Ashton Kucher) while Hyde (Danny Masterson) is the ogles of my eyes.

RUGBY, RUGBY, RUGBY!
SATURDAY 14th NOVEMBER: AU VS NZ
AU 22 - NZ 10.
My good George getting the smacks and the pushes last night. Ubiquitous, he was, he played real hard till he was out from the game by the 2nd half due results from over-exertion. A great all-body massage should do fine for him. Here, NZ All-Blacks' Aaron Mauger shifting the ball away from George's reaching tackles.
AU Captain George Gregan, the established leader of the pack, really all-set to launch a fair attack on the All Blacks. Mighty Gregan is the catalyst on-field for the Wallabies.
The wallops and the tackles between the All Blacks and the Wallabies are fierce. Lote Tuqiri being snuffed here by NZ's Leon Macdonald. What's with Macdonald's kick yesterday? His angles does not help the All Blacks to top up the scoreboard. Meanwhile, Tuqiri loves to leap, kangaroo-like, his play is excellent and in good form.
The Wallabies packed real actions to whack the All Blacks this time. They definitely went all-out and in fact, an all-effort game.
The first try by Wallabies' Stirling Mortlock is just simply an easy touch. It was a good intercept pass and Mortlock cruises through the already-faraway running All Blacks chasing onwards to their defence line.
Elton Flatley's kick is precise, adding to the scoreboard.
Mat Rogers is being marked by the All Blacks. It was a tight fight for Rogers to club down the NZs' which then had him a bloody nose. Bloody and all, Rogers was out for about 15 minutes and then he's back in the game, headstrong, steadfast.
I was watching the Semi Final One flanked by two All Blacks' fans, Hoot-Hoot (at her own residence) and Yoko at my home. Yoko was dressed in, traditionally, all black. I am giving the benefit of the doubt to the most respected NZ team. Field sports life is fair play anyway. It is evident soon that the Aussie Wallabies are the defending champions. Great support, everyone, it's a damn good play. Yoko brought me to a wedding dinner after breaking of fast and I was wearing a bright ocean-blue outfit to mark the winning of the Wallabies. I am elated.

Catching this evening's Semi Final Two match of France versus England. Another battle at Waterloo?

"OHH...ARE U GONNA TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT/OHH DOWN BESIDE THAT RED BRIGHT LIGHT/OHH YOU'RE GONNA LET IT ALL HANG OUT/FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS YOU MAKE THE ROCKING WORLD GO ROUND"
Today being the 18th day of Ramadhan, it has been an enjoyable journey so far. Iftars upon iftars, it somehow strengthens the ties of silaturrahim amongst family & friends.
Mummy's already planned the number of ketupats to be ordered. She has even 'booked' me to go purchase chickens next friday. The talk about baking hari raya delicacies has in fact taken place since a week before. I looked up to the skies, I thought, how long more till Eid el Fitr? Gosh, how time flies when you're having fun!
Dad hasn't seen any drastic change in my size this Ramadhan. That doesn't put me in a tight spot. Dad's just happy the way I am.
I just feel stranger this month though. I am indeed in need of help. I need longer hours of sleep. Have been slipping into short slumbers while in my office recently. Hoping that my boss will understand of how fatigued I've become. Uh, and yup, word for a 'Hari Raya Lunch' at the office was being planned by my boss. Tsk, so early.. I still wanna sleep. Wake me up when it's done.
Happy Fasting to all dear family and friends.

.: OI! DROOL ON THIS :.
What has kept me indoors over the weekend and will continue next weekend, is the on-going Rugby World Cup 2003 held in Australia. Aired 'LIVE' on Singapore's Channel 5, it sure is the highlight.
Saturday's Australian Wallabies versus Scotlands' match is teeth gritting. The Wallabies' play is superb. It sure was a tough fight for the Scots, in fact very fierce. Still, by the 72nd minute, the Scots were lagging behind the springing Wallabies, Aussies 33 - Scots 9. The Scots really have to make up for the loophole. Definitely, adrenaline rush through the body can be felt, by many players of any sports, at moments of the last 10 minutes till the final horn blow, a surge of anxiousness is dominant. The Scots did have a mighty game fight, however the tryline is just too tight for them to pass through. The Aussies are very, very protective and steadfast. 79th minute, with the Scots' nice try, the final score is Wallabies 33 - Scots 16. Nice Try! Hurrah to the boys in green shorts. Dare I say, the Aussie team has the most handsome players onfield. Any chance of knowing them more closer? Hehehe...
My Chosen Heroes...
Phil Waugh, 24 yrs, Openside Flanker.
Lote Tuqiri, 24 yrs, Wing.
George Smith, 23 yrs, Flanker.
Mat Rogers, 27 yrs, Fullback/Centre.
Elton Flatley, 26 yrs, Flyhalf.
Bredan Cannon, 30 yrs, Hooker.
I wish the Australian Wallabies best play and good luck for next week's match versus New Zealand's All Black. Even with George Smith's shoulder injury caused by Saturday's match against the Scots, I pray he will make it to secure a spot to play for next weekend's match. May the force be with you. Down don't let me.. (speaks Yoda).
Last Week's Funny:
Would anyone like to drool on 'Explosive Curry' a.k.a 'Kari Meletup'? I was home from a late night trip to a bazaar and just getting ready to taste some of the foodie. I held the small bowl of curry in front of my face, picked on its lid and 'POP' blows the weasel. Curry explodes on my face... a first in my 27 years of life. Which happened the same to someone living over at Punggol.
Right, you know who you are.

BON ANNIVERSAIRE!
A dear fellow friend's birthday was yesterday, November 4th. 28 years of age, more the wiser, more the finer, yet more hyper than any child.
A get-together was called upon the reliable teamplayers. The scene at Bugis' Tong Kee coffeeshop is happening. The movers, groovers and shakers liked being there. For there is where the affordable meal is, serving halal chicken feet noodles, laksa, fish soup, chicken rice, wantan and more. That eatery is one of the good places to 'cuci mata', wash your eyes out. The 7 hungry beings tucked in together happily, breaking a day's fast.
A walk down to Al-Majlis takes a short while from the coffeeshop. The 'S Club 7' was then reduced to 6, with Yuslie leaving the scene to attend a secret Spidey mission. Al-Majlis wasn't packed at all. It somehow creates a perfect leisurely ambience to rest your tired legs, have chats, drink tea and inhale fruit-flavoured shishas. However, I think Al-Majlis is getting to be passe, a thing of the past. Well, in Singapore, things become ancient quickly. An order of 2 pots, or, 2 dapur as we affectionately call it, lasts an hour and a half hang-out. First timer Jasmine is quick to adjust to the 'new culture' she has never experienced before. Hoot-Hoot must put in a lot of training to shish, just needs some taming to be done. (*_*)
The rendezvous was concluded then after, altogether catching the train back home. Four folks towards the North-bound, 1 folk on the North-East direction, while the lizard scurries away to her West-bound destination. It was one of the never-ending flockings which leaves behind a satisfying feeling and shisha-scented hair.

THE VOLCANO SHALL "SPIT ASH" AGAIN TODAY
Scene 1:
It's a pre-judgement day for SPIT ASH today. Venue, Plaza Singapura. Despite being a Ramadhan month, the band summons all efforts to perfectize the line-up. All 6 are expected to be present, yet one of the kingsmen seems to be switching off somewhere. While suffering one bit of downfall is affecting the bands' moods & morale, still perseverance do they prevail in them. A wish for them, All That Is Well, Ends Well..
Exeunt Scene 1, conclude forward to Scene 2.
So, my afternoon sched shall be, meeting Hoot-Hoot at 5pm, where we will be visiting Spotlight, which my mum told me to look for some lace kitchen curtains. Hoot-Hoots wants potpourri for her home, therefore Spotlight's the perfect one-stop home shopping for today. My lil' brother shall roam himself about around Yamaha Music School. The band will arrive at 5.30pm, they will need a lot of settling down. My Artemis shall come around 6.15pm. By 6.52pm, everyone of us shall break our fast together. So serene..
Becoming the lady behind the filming arena is somewhat nice. To capture the awesome moments on an 8MM film is one way of saving history. Does prediction exists? Anyway, my intuition tells me today the venue shall be packed with crowd. This camera-lady must brave herself.
Wassalam.
Scene 2:
The ladies arrived at the scene earlier than the band. As Lizardeouss enters the venue, her lizard intuition tells right. It really is a huge crowd at the scene of happening. Anyhow, it adds more atmosphere to the already hip band contest. The ladies were waiting anxiously for the arrival of SPIT ASH. Meanwhile, the sextuplets were on their way to Dhoby Ghaut onboard the NorthEast line. Just minutes into the breaking of fast, the band arrives. Everyone sat to have a simple break of fast. Spirits were high, anxiety build-up is normal. Hoot-Hoot shows signs of anxiousness in her, Lizardeouss feels it right away. The band then set on about to apply liquid latex on their faces. Final touches on their faces here and there, SPIT ASH's team is in a busy mode. This is the semi finals, whereby the band's future will be told in any moment from then on.
Enter SPIT ASH. Instruments set-up takes on aboard the stage. They will shake the evening and bring the audience to a new height. This time, the emcee obediently announces the band's name correctly, thanks to Faisal's inscriptions on his cap. "The loudest band", as Faisal explains it to be.
Then, the volcano swells and it burst out hot molten lava onto the barren land, it SPIT ASH continously, at first gently flowing out fluidly. As the people watch intently, the volcano shoots hot spurs fiercely. Definitely a more different sound than other bands whom were carrying pop, hip-hop, rock and folk. SPIT ASH is nu-metal.
Endra, on drums, very, very concentrated. Norazan's seriously kicking in power with his guitar. Firdaus has a lot of severe bass-slamming to do. Rohaizad is the biggest melody in this scene, with the futuristic chords of his Yamaha keyboard. Faisal's fluidity vocals today is somewhat appealing to the audience, yeah, lead-men don't just sing, he reaches out to the audience as well. Hakim puts in his guitar prowess and full ability tonight as he steered in upfront to do a Chimaera-trick to awe the crowd. Conclusively, the band has projected an impressive image that brought on wild cheers at the end of Rohaizad's last zing of his keyboard.
Phew! Lizardeouss has just ended another round of exciting filming of the band. Everybody waited for the results of the finals. It was the time of truth and judgement. The emcee stood onstage, reading out the finalists' results from a list. Fellow-friends' band, Galudra made it to the finals. Lizardeouss' heart pounded incessantly until the words were spoken, SPIT ASH! They entered into the finals! A big congrats to all 6 members. A great success!
Exeunt Scene 2.
A big thanks to: Norhuda, image artist. Irfan, faceworks artist & soundman. Argyris, constant supporter & artist. Zoul Vialli, being the transvestite of the day (hehehe), a reliable supporter & artist. Zulkifli Zain, a new-breeding artist & a learner. Nazri, the biggest supporter and brotherhoodlum. Your endless help and support is much appreciated. You guys add the ambience to everything and without you, we'll slowly wilt and die, our sail will be lost at sea... Thank you!
