Rub-a-dub-dub, 3 ladies in a car....

I have just gotten home from work, with an after-taste of a one-off experience really hard to hold back giggling about.

Jurong area is well-proned to riotous stormic rains, thunders and devil-chasing lightnings. What today seemed like another one of those 'live-firing' rounds of thunder & lightning has led to an uninspiring evening.

Flood has enshrouded almost 80 percent of Jurong Town's main industrial area. My prime-mover drivers were facing some difficulties to pass through certain roads and were forced to make detours whenever possible. My lady boss, Evon, has then decided to 'close-shop' as early as 1630hrs, due to bad weather. And so, the remaining 3 of us ladies braved the weather and boarded Evon's car. She was in much haste to send us home. Amissing my advice to take the P.I.E route, she drove towards International Rd instead, where doom is in waiting. Water has rised up to the brim of the main road, covering the road divider, making it look like a giant swimming pool. The larger vehicles waded through the flood without much effort, while other cars steered away. Evon the 'SuperWoman Today' drove through the murky flood without much worry. I was more concerned of her brake discs being overwhelmed by the flood. Halfway through the main road, her green Mercedes stalled. We were stranded on the first lane. Water has entered the car's engine and Merce cars has this intelligence whereby, in all emergency it auto-ceases. Damn wished she was driving an MPV instead or better, SUV.

No use whining about something which had occured, an immediate action of rescue-calls were expedited. We were still in the car for 10 minutes, while huge trailers passed beside the car. I am more adamant about saving our lives first rather than the car. Remember about the lady who stayed in her car by the road-shoulder at the highway and then got run-over by a trailer? Scary. So, we got out slowly, careful of not letting water flow into the seat cabin. While awaiting for the tow-truck to arrive, Tazhar, our prime-mover driver came to the rescue. Instantly people could recognize which company we're from as Tazhar's vehicle clearly states it right. For the first time, in broad daylight I became a part-time road traffic attendant, ushering oncoming vehicles to steer left. What had supposed to be an early day off for us has returned back to square-one, we still got home later. The turn of event has sprouted some members of the staff to bet on Evon's car number tomorrow. With a gush of luck, I do wish them to strike the winning number, with money flowing like the floods.

I do hope this happening has taught something to Evon - mind over matter. To listen with a muddled head causes adverse results.

And hey, I'm a freight traffic controller. Does road traffic controlling covers in my span of duty as well? Hehehe....

OLD IS GOLD.

We are all growing old. How do we know that? By our appearance, we could tell, our skin ages with time and season. The way the corner of our eyes crinkles up when we smiled with glee, that is the first tell-tale signs of skin-ageing. From the skins of youth, we peel away into the membranes of mid-life. Amazing how weathered we homo-sapiens are.

I never thought about facial shifting before, but it has happened right under my nose. This natural shifting which takes place can be incredible to notice sometimes. Certain lines and marks which weren't supposed to be there naturally appears on you and whether it makes or undo someone's face value is already depending on how much weight one could shoulder. Who's to judge the by-laws of nature changes anyway, except if one is a perfectionist and afraid of living with the truth. The bare essence of our body is beautiful and unique, it's just the mindset which needs to groomed, that's all. I've just brushed my mind off, remembering about a pair of perky bottoms on a fine lady this morning. Uhm, if you might know, I'm an avid watcher of other women's god-given assets.

As we grew much older with wise and grace, we might not want to forget of the heritage that's been passed on by our elders of yesteryears. For without them, what are we? The young of this era are getting more advancely motivated, bringing about fresh new changes to life. Whether it creates a more leisure lifestyle or putting the majority of the human race into exorbitant unnecessity, what does it matter anyway? It's either we got too old to get used to something new or just plain stubborn.

My friends including myself, have started tradings of unearthly dealings, if some of you know what I mean.... One lad has quietened down to resort being a pirate, while another is doing god-knows-what. Does we felt too old to do the things mama never taught us to do, or was it we never waited till we got too old to do it... There's a 'South Of Heaven' kick to it and otherwise life slacks! For whatever you do, did and done, the angels might just chorus out, "You Know Damn Right!"

Wassalam.

MINAMOTO Part 1.5

MINAMOTO Part I.

Year 2004. On the opening day of January this year I've had envisioned the type of schedule that I'll be facing throughout the other 12 months to come. Three outstanding commitments that needs to be given top priority albeit the compulsory commitment towards my family life and home, will take centrestage for the rest of the time this year. My job has ranked premier in my list of commitments this year, what with my new position at work. Freight traffic control and planning has already made my head spin increasingly, with the traffic volume rising this season. Being the head of documentation at the same time really make me feel like a sotong - my tentacles reaching out at every corner - every single detail is accounted for. I'm so lucky to be blessed with the natural ability to adapt and persevere though.

My second commitment towards two-wheel riding at least gives me a more uplifting feel, much of a release from the very tension resulting from workaholicism. The process of re-taking my riding licence will take a longer moment since the local riding authorities have prolonged the lesson periods up to about 9 stages. It takes a hell lot of pain, babes. Under the hot sun, my beliefs are strong in due respect towards getting that piece of plastic card which says 'Driving Licence class 2B/2A/2'.

My Kulupian bros are all so much more experienced than myself. Giving me their full back-up and guidance through my endurance, in fact it has shifted my gear two steps up. So experienced they were, some have turned into crash-test dummies, skids after skids, if that doesn't make them a better rider than I am, I rest my case. It irks me to hear a phone ringing nowadays to listen to news of Baby Rem flung from his super four, or Zul meeting with two kinds of accidents in a week! Whenever I say "Jalan baik-baik", the next day I'll receive bad news. 'Nuff said, these things are better left unsaid. And they were all riding the smoothest bike in the world. The Honda CBR Super Four being the smoothest and stable road bike. If that doesn't give one a safer ride, then safety really is in the hands of the rider itself.

I am left to decide on which machine to burn rubber with. The comments, ideas and advices I received from many about the Aprilia RS125 are enriching indeed, it shall be put to good use in the upcoming future.

This piece of darling is indeed everybody's first love. Many will modify the Honda NSR with such valour and is it everlasting enough? That shall be for me to know and for me to find out.

It has almost reached the first quarter of the year and so much has occured since then. My top 2 commitments have lifted above ground and soaring upwards, what does my third commitment have to offer? It shall wait and see, or does it stay grounded then? It's for me to know and for me to find out.

HEAT

I don't bloody care for what some fated beings are gonna think, I'm in HEAT, oh yes I am in much HEAT. Parallel to this week's mercury rising temperatures, my temper and blood pressure definitely reach a quivering height and my body heat is getting hotter than usual. The demons in me are starting to show its nasty fangs and horns. This just happens to be one of those HEATY months.

The hot seasons are here again. The occasional downpour doesn't help put away the sizzle in the grounds. The global warming sweeps across the seven seas. Ever so sarcastic at the very slightest flick, I need a whole lot of cooling. Am pining for some good old thirst-quencher right now. Catch you later when my heat's off.

Wassalam.

Might take a lifetime....
